FAQ

Where did your blog name come from?
When we got pregnant with Atticus, we quickly picked a giraffe theme for his nursery.  Once we got pregnant with Finnley, we decided he needed an animal theme as well.  He got elephants.  Now that they are growing up, they are out growing this zoo theme.  This was just meant to be a connection to wherever we go from here... it always started with giraffes and elephants.

What happens if you have another baby?
It still started with giraffes and elephants.  The baby, I'm sure, will get an animal as well.  However, I'm horrible with blog names, so it will probably just stay the same.

Where did your children's names come from?
They are both from classic literature.  Atticus is named after Atticus Finch in "To Kill A Mockingbird".  For Finnley, we were going to go with Finn (like Huckleberry Finn).  However, our parents kept referring to him as Finnley, and I refused to have a nickname longer than his actual name.

How do you do it all, and keep up with the house work too?
Short answer. I don't.  I crop the mess out of a lot of pictures, but its still there.  The house will stay clean once the kids move out, but for now that comes second to the kids.  If you came to my house you'd see dishes in the sink, laundry piled up in about 4 baskets, toys scattered around the house, and the remains of whatever trash can the dogs had access to.  Its definitely not perfect around here.

Are you a photographer?
Absolutely not! All my pictures (unless otherwise mentioned) are off my phone, and touched up by apps.  I know nothing about lighting or positioning... I just do what I like, and like what I do.

Do you consider yourself a "natural parent"?
My husband and I do whatever we believe to be best for us and our children.  Thus, its really a mixture.  I do find myself to lean more toward the natural and attachment parenting side.  However, I also have to keep it easy enough for my parents and husband to keep up with.  So its an honest mixture.
